I have nearly completed my third week at Weebly. It is going very well. Now that I am at a Web Site Creator company, I am finally motivating myself to launch a blog. I have thought about it often.....but never did it. Also, I have been sidetracked by FB and Twitter. These social media sites have been great. But now that I am at Weebly, I feel the time is right to finally move beyond these micro-publishing sites.
So, I am launching www.ChrisSheridan.co today.
So why the domain name "chrissheridan.co"? Two reasons. First, this is a personal blog. So, the major way I wanted to communicate that theme was by naming it "chrissheridan". Reason #2. As all of my domain colleagues know, I then started the search for "chrissheridan" across numerous domain extensions. I was actually surprised that "co" was available. I thought it would be taken. I did consider registering my name in a New GTLD as well. I do own several new tld domains. But, the "co" extension was ideal for me as I like the shortness (2 characters) and just thought it fit well with me.
The registrar? eNom, of course!
I know that launching a blog is the first step. Weebly made this easy for me (I know - shameless plug). The second step is remaining committed and publishing posts. I think the challenge for me will be the frequency. I am starting small right now - once a month. Moving to twice a week. Moving to weekly. I think that is a good goal.
Final note - the focus of the blog will be domains, hosting, and the tech industry in general.
Until my next post!
